Operating principle

Metal detectors function using radio waves. One of the device’s antennas sends a signal to the opposing antenna, which receives and reflects the signal back. Since radio waves cannot penetrate metal objects, a metal object on a person passing through an arched metal detector causes one of the radio waves to reflect back faster than the others. The device measures the reflection time, and when a deviation in the time interval is detected, the alarm is triggered. When a person passes through a metal detector with a prohibited item, light and sound indications are triggered, and information is transmitted via a wired connection to the turnstile (airlock cabin, automatic door, etc.), blocking further movement. If no prohibited items are detected, the turnstile allows access.

Parallel operation

This equipment has 63 operating frequencies, due to which mutual interference of adjacent metal detectors is reduced and parallel operation is possible. It is recommended to set different values of operating frequencies for metal detectors located next to each other. The distance of parallel metal detectors depends on the sensitivity level and frequency combination. The minimum distance acceptable for operation is determined based on the conditions at the installation.
